a bit about me

Hey, my name is Nate! I’m a PhD student in the Kahlert School of Computing at the University of Utah, advised by Ana Marasović. I’m broadly interested in the intersection of NLP and machine learning. It’s important to me that language technologies be useful for humans in the real world. I like to work in areas such as explainability, natural language understanding, and applications.

Previously, I graduated from Pomona College where I worked with Mike Izbicki. Outside of school I was a distance runner and captain for the Cross Country and Track and Field teams. In my free time you can find me exploring the Wasatch Mountains.
